As I stood before such a talented group of journalists and media professionals, I couldn’t help but feel inspired. The stories shared that night were powerful reminders of the critical role journalism plays in shaping society, holding the powerful accountable, and giving a voice to those who would otherwise remain unheard.

It was an evening full of passion, purpose, and a shared commitment to truth. Each award was a testament to the courage, dedication, and impact of investigative journalists across Africa who are pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo. I’m incredibly grateful to have been part of such a significant moment in our media landscape, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for African investigative journalism.
